Unbelievable

The White Sox won the pennant. I was going absolutely nuts during the game, willing the White Sox to win and yelling like a maniac when they tied the game and then took the lead. I unleashed a torrent of obscenities and taunts at Kid K (what was wrong with him tonight?). And when they won, I wasn't quite sure what I was watching was actually real.
I hopped on the Red Line and went two stops South down to 35th, where a crowd was massing outside the ballpark. People were driving through the area honking horns, leaning out their car windows and waving flags. Firecrackers were lit off, and chants rose up. A family and their children from the area danced down the sidewalk, banging pots and pans. People clustered together in front of news cameras, whoring for their face on television.
It was a surreal scene, and I was drunk with euphoria. I called a bunch of people and yelled stupid shit.
The police closed off the streets leading in to the area, and at least three or four news helicopters buzzed overhead, getting aerial footage. Eventually I got bored, and didnt want to wait in line at Grandstands for an AL Champs t-shirt. So I went back home. Ahh, but what a night.
